My name is Anna and I have spent most of my life in a profession where showing your creative side was somewhat frowned upon. Now I’m out of that environment I can focus on making pretty blobs of glass! I make what I like and I undertake commissions. My beads are usually sold to other jewellery makers but some I do make into jewellery and cufflinks. I also make glass corsages and top pieces for wedding and special occasion cakes – a lovely alternative to fresh flowers and certainly a keepsake.
Lampworking involves using an oxygen and propane torch to melt rods of glass (generally sourced from Italy – perhaps you’ve heard of Murano glass? ) and then decorate the beads using frits, metals such as silver, brass and gold, and by using the very nature of glass to capture bubbles and depth in each individual bead.
I sell at craft fairs every now and then but mainly online using Etsy.
